Shaping knitwear samples on a form.

The start of stage three. The beginnings of a new project. My concept is about dark and moody settings and I have been hugely inspired by Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights'. I have looked into menswear and womenswear and toying with the idea of a joint collection or unisex.

This is a concept board from a stage two project. I was looking at abstraction and extraction. I created marbled fabric and pattern using the Japanese suminagashi technique and extracted areas of pattern I liked and that worked well into embroidery. I was using Kandinsky and Matisse's cut outs as a source of inspiration to create well positioned embroideries onto cloth.
This is a stage two project, I was using sportswear as inspiration for creating beaded samples. I used matte black beads on a bead loom then handed stitched on top with neon rayon thread.
